Peter Baumann's first solo album brings back memories of lying in bed at night with the lights out listening to TD, early Kraftwerk and Synergy. I would travel to infinite worlds and my first glimpses of what music can do to foster creativity was inspired by Peter's haunting yet beautiful soundscapes. Peter's melodies hurled TD to greatness and sad to say the band never produced much of note after he left the band (although you would not guess so with all of the recordings they have put out). After Ricochet (the last with Peter) the TD sound became too mainstream and somewhat boringly predictable, with occasional gems but never of the quality I came to expect from TD's early stuff (Phaedra, Rubycon, Stratosfear, Live, Sorcerer). After producing four recordings (the later two being techno pop) Peter went on to become a music producer himself, launching a number of new age artists such as Patrick O'Hearn and Sandford Ponder. If you are lucky enough to be able to find this recording at a decent price by all means acquire it. It is classic for those who have kept an interest in early pioneering electronic music.
