It is a wonderful book full of historic information and interesting observations. I first read a friend's copy and decided it was a "must have" for my library. The author is enthusiastic on the subject and that is evident throughout the book. It is great reference material for anyone interested in the technical history of I.C. engines. As with other SAE publications the paper used is of low quality and in this instance that has affected the clarity of the many photographs reproduced in book.
