It’s always nice to find a book that allows you to finish the last page and close on a happy sigh. Whirlwind Romance was an engaging, easy read with identifiable characters and a well-developed story in a compact novel.I live in Kansas and have dreamed of being a storm chaser, so I love the way the atmospheric tension was reflected in the budding relationship between Tristan and Kate. The weather science and academic details created real life character depth, particularly in the friendship between Tristan and Hunter and the professional relationship between the different chase teams. Add Maddox as a friend and mascot and I’m all in!There was just enough stress and turmoil to keep it real, and enough steamy sex to keep it hot. It must be difficult to find the balance between writing sex for romance and for erotica but, from my perspective, Bryant nailed it.Some reviewers struggled with the first person writing style but it was not an issue for me. It was easy to become immersed in Tristan’s experiences and live the story with her.I also read and enjoyed Jolt, Bryant’s first book, and like Whirlwind Romance quite a bit more. The story was more fluid and natural; the characters felt more real. Whirlwind Romance is a great afternoon read and I can't wait for whatever comes next from Bryant.
